Bird Watchers, Birders, Nature Lovers should hear the Bird Banter Podcast. Hear Birders talk about birdwatching, or birding for the more passionate. Hear their birding stories, about bird watching experiences, about birding research, birding travel, and birdwatching anecdotes. It's fun, conversational and tries to be a birding ambassador to improve the world one birder at a time.

The Bird Banter Podcast Episode #3 with Bruce LaBar
In this episode I talk with Bruce LaBar. Bruce has the #1 lifelist of bird species seen in Washington State at 452 and in Pierce County 285. Lest you think Bruce is easing off he is currently the #1 eBird lister in both areas for 2019 too!
You can find Bruce LaBar on facebook @brucelabar or Instagram @tacomabruce
Links to resources mentioned in the podcast.
Westport Seabirds is the longest running database of pelagic trip sightings in the world. Bruce is a regular spotter on these trips.
Bruce is at the spotting scope in this 1982 photo from Dan Roberson's Website on the history of California Birding.
Shearwater Journeys is Debbie Love Shearwater's Pelagic Birding Company that runs out of Monterey Bay and other northern California ports. I believe she may be stopping leading these trips soon if not already.

This is my first podcast on birding and not being a birder, and I wasn’t sure what I was going to be listening to. However, after listening to Bruce’s story about his seventh grade experience, I was hooked. Great stories and good narration, Ed. Thank you for the podcast notes, as I enjoyed following up on some of the links. I am looking forward to hearing about Kenya in the next Podcast.

Good birding, good day...loved your sign off. Really good interview with Bruce. As a non- birder I especially liked the description of your trip to Kenya. Looking forward to hearing more about Kenya in podcast #4. Well done, Ed!
